Position Profile
Weaver is looking for talented tax professionals at the senior associate level candidates to join our growing firm! The candidate should be a team player who exhibits initiative, accepts responsibility, communicates effectively, and manages multiple concurrent assignments of varying sizes and complexity. As this role is focused on the not-for-profit practice, the candidate should have a strong work ethic and be a self-starter and understand that the busy season for work often differs from a typical tax busy season.
To be successful in this role, the following qualifications are required:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 4 or 4+ years of experience preparing U.S. federal and state tax returns.
- Knowledge and practice in grouping large sets of accounts
- Efficiency in preparation of financial statements from raw data for use in tax preparation
- Hands-on experience preparing complex individual, partnership, corporate, trust, and exempt organization tax returns (Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1041), including related state filings, with a proven ability to review and supervise simpler returns prepared by Associates.
- Experience with exempt organization filings, including Forms 990 and 990‑PF, is considered an advantage.
- Ability to continually learn, research technical topics and grasp new concepts
- Ability to utilize all available resources for efficient and effective problem solving
- Willingness to work in office with team members / Supervisors or managers
- Attention to detail
- Team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Maintain flexible hours to accommodate key client or team requirements
- Fluency in written and spoken English, including grammatical accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint); CCH Axcess, Prosystem Fx Engagement, Gofile room, SurePrep
Additionally, The Following Qualifications Are Preferred
- Master's degree in accounting, or related field is preferred
- EA, CPA, CPA candidate, CA, or CA candidate
