Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Team Leader – US Tax (1040) to lead a team of tax professionals and manage the preparation and review of Individual Tax Returns. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical expertise in US Individual Taxation (Form 1040), excellent leadership skills, and experience working with US CPA firms or accounting organizations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of US Tax Associates and Senior Tax Associates.
• Review and oversee the preparation of Individual Tax Returns (Form 1040).
• Handle complex tax scenarios involving Schedule A, B, C, D, E, and K-1 reporting.
• Ensure timely completion of tax returns while maintaining quality standards.
• Review tax workpapers, supporting documents, and client deliverables.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
• Coordinate with US clients, CPAs, and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor team productivity, utilization, and turnaround times.
• Identify process improvements and implement best practices.
• Stay updated with changes in US tax laws and regulations.

Technical Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience in US Individual Taxation (Form 1040).
• In-depth knowledge of:
• Schedule A (Itemized Deductions)
• Schedule B (Interest & Dividend Income)
• Schedule C (Business Income)
• Schedule D (Capital Gains & Losses)
• Schedule E (Rental & Pass-through Income)
• K-1 Reporting
• Tax Credits and Deductions
• Multi-State Tax Returns
• Tax Planning and Tax Projections
• Experience reviewing complex individual tax returns.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in US Taxation with significant exposure to Form 1040.
• Prior experience leading or mentoring a team.
• Strong communication and client-management skills.
• Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Excel.
