Role Overview
- The Tax Compliance Officer is responsible for executing day-to-day tax and statutory compliance work for allocated clients.
- Handles tax compliance tasks end-to-end under defined processes and checklists.
- Works under the guidance and review of the Compliance Manager.
- Individual contributor role with no team management responsibilities.
- This position suits candidates with hands-on experience in GST, Income Tax, TDS, PF/ESI, ROC and related laws who want structured exposure in a Reg-Tech environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute statutory compliances for MSME/startup clients covering GST, Income Tax, TDS, PF/ESI, ROC and other applicable laws.
- Prepare workings, data templates, reconciliations and schedules for various tax returns and filings.
- Draft and file GST returns, TDS returns, income-tax forms and other statutory forms within timelines set by the Compliance Manager.
- Maintain compliance calendars, trackers and documentation using digital tools and cloud systems.
- Coordinate with clients to obtain data, documents and clarifications required for filings and audits.
- Track due dates for each client and ensure internal actions are completed on time for filing.
- Record and organise working papers, workings and evidence for future reference and audits.
- Prepare concise compliance summaries, MIS reports and status updates for review by the Compliance Manager and other stakeholders.
- Share practical feedback with the product team on checklists, workflows and dashboards while using the Beyondtax platform.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce / Tax / Law / Accounting.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in compliance, taxation, accounting or related roles (experience in a CA firm will be valued).
- CA / CS / CMA Inter qualification is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of GST, Income Tax, TDS and ROC compliances
- Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and comfort with digital tools and cloud-based systems.
- Strong ownership of allocated tasks, high accuracy and comfort working with detailed checklists.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment with evolving processes.

- Experience in a CA firm or a compliance-focused role handling multiple clients.
- Experience in drafting process documents, SOPs or internal audit paperwork.
