As a Tax Analyst on the ITX Compliance Projects team, you will own and drive critical indirect tax compliance initiatives across multiple jurisdictions. You'll ensure precise alignment between indirect tax compliance requirements, system configurations, and operational processes - maintaining the integrity and accuracy of tax compliance while supporting corporate strategic initiatives. You'll work independently to identify compliance gaps and assist in building scalable solutions (partnering with Operations, Technology, Finance, and Accounting teams) to remediate issues and strengthen our compliance posture.
Key job responsibilities
Define & Validate Indirect Tax Compliance Requirements - Define indirect tax compliance system requirements globally and ensure that system implementations meet those requirements across multiple geographies
Drive VAT Compliance Initiatives - Own end-to-end delivery of VAT compliance projects, ensuring adherence to local / EU-wide regulations
Verify Compliance Processes - Verify indirect tax compliance processes and ensure accuracy of tax determinations, reporting outputs, and compliance data across systems
Support System & Tool Implementations - Support the implementation of new systems and tools for indirect tax compliance, ensuring tax requirements are embedded from design through go-live
Data Validation & Testing - Apply strong data validation and testing methodologies to ensure accuracy and completeness of compliance data across systems
Document & Maintain Audit Trails - Produce clear, concise tax requirements documents, gap analyses, and recommendations create and maintain comprehensive audit trails documenting implementation of requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or a Bachelor's degree and experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field
- Understanding of data validation and testing methodologies in a tax compliance context
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level
- Strong analytical skills - ability to work with large datasets, identify patterns, and translate findings into actionable recommendations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - ability to articulate complex VAT issues clearly and persuasively to non-tax stakeholders
- CA / CMA / CTA/ACA/ACCA full or part qualified, or equivalent professional tax qualification (ADIT, ATT)
- Experience working with ERP systems and tax engine systems (e.g. Vertex / Sabrix)
- Exposure to automated testing frameworks or data quality assurance in a tax or finance context
- Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth technology or e-commerce environment
