Tax Accountant Role:

Responsible for assisting with all aspects of the tax compliance process including preparing schedules and returns for all U.S. federal and state income and sales and use tax returns. May also assist with US annual reporting and registration requirements. May require some liaison with local India tax consultants or auditors. Applicant will assist with special projects on an as needed basis.

Tax research

  • Research tax laws and regulations
  • Research US sales and use tax matters

Tax returns

  • Prepare various federal and state franchise and income tax returns
  • Prepare and file monthly/quarterly sales and use tax returns
  • Prepare use tax allocation schedules across all Milliman profit centers
  • Renew yearly business licenses and register Milliman entities in new tax jurisdictions
  • Assist with year-end 1099 and 1042 processing

Audit assistance

  • Provide technical support of jurisdictional examinations (income tax, sales/use, etc.)

Communication

  • Respond to notices from tax authorities
  • Provide support to offices with their tax related requests

Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate in finance with preferably experience in a reputed MNC or a big four company
  • Preferred 1-3 years of experience in U.S taxation
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Accurate and detail oriented
  • Strong collaboration with ability to work independently
  • Option to work from home during hours of 3-11 pm (some flexibility on time)
