Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Tandoor Commis Chef based in Bengaluru. The Tandoor Commis Chef will be responsible for preparing tandoor dishes, assisting in the preparation of a variety of Indian cuisines, and ensuring food is cooked to high-quality standards. The role involves maintaining hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen, managing inventory for tandoor-related ingredients, and supporting senior chefs during kitchen operations. Additionally, the candidate will need to adhere to recipes, guidelines, and presentation standards.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in traditional tandoor cooking techniques and preparation of a variety of Indian tandoor dishes
- Knowledge of basic kitchen operations, food safety, and sanitation standards
- Skills in preparing and marinating ingredients for tandoor, managing the tandoor setup, and controlling cooking temperatures
- Attention to detail, time management, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Basic knowledge of kitchen inventory management and food storage practices
- Ability to work well in a team and take direction from senior chefs
- Previous experience in a similar tandoor or kitchen role is preferred
- Formal culinary education or equivalent certifications in cooking techniques related to Indian cuisine is a plus
