Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Tandoor Commis Chef based in Bengaluru. The Tandoor Commis Chef will be responsible for preparing tandoor dishes, assisting in the preparation of a variety of Indian cuisines, and ensuring food is cooked to high-quality standards. The role involves maintaining hygiene and safety standards in the kitchen, managing inventory for tandoor-related ingredients, and supporting senior chefs during kitchen operations. Additionally, the candidate will need to adhere to recipes, guidelines, and presentation standards.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in traditional tandoor cooking techniques and preparation of a variety of Indian tandoor dishes
  • Knowledge of basic kitchen operations, food safety, and sanitation standards
  • Skills in preparing and marinating ingredients for tandoor, managing the tandoor setup, and controlling cooking temperatures
  • Attention to detail, time management, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen inventory management and food storage practices
  • Ability to work well in a team and take direction from senior chefs
  • Previous experience in a similar tandoor or kitchen role is preferred
  • Formal culinary education or equivalent certifications in cooking techniques related to Indian cuisine is a plus
