About the Opportunity

HummingBird is hiring a Lead Talent Acquisition on behalf of its client, a leading organization in the Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) sector, based in Vadodara.

The Head of Talent Acquisition will be responsible for developing and executing the organization's talent acquisition strategy, leading recruitment teams, partnering with senior business stakeholders, and building a scalable talent pipeline. The role will focus on strategic hiring, employer branding, recruitment analytics, talent planning, and strengthening the overall candidate experience.

The ideal candidate should have strong leadership capabilities, deep recruitment expertise, and experience managing talent acquisition in a complex, regulated, and fast-paced BFSI environment.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition Strategy

  • Develop and execute the overall talent acquisition strategy aligned with business growth objectives.
  • Partner with business and HR leadership to understand current and future workforce requirements.
  • Build strategic hiring plans across corporate, technology, operations, sales, risk, compliance, finance, and other functions.
  • Develop talent pipelines for critical, niche, and leadership positions.
  • Establish scalable recruitment processes to support organizational growth.

Recruitment Leadership

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end recruitment function.
  • Establish recruitment targets, KPIs, SLAs, and performance standards for the TA team.
  • Guide recruiters and talent acquisition specialists on sourcing, assessment, candidate engagement, and closure.
  • Monitor recruitment performance and continuously improve hiring effectiveness.
  • Ensure timely closure of positions while maintaining quality standards.

Senior Stakeholder Management

  • Partner closely with CXOs, business heads, functional leaders, and hiring managers.
  • Act as a strategic talent advisor to business leadership.
  • Provide insights on talent availability, compensation trends, market conditions, and competitive hiring practices.
  • Manage senior-level and critical hiring requirements.
  • Drive regular talent reviews and workforce planning discussions.

Sourcing & Talent Pipeline

  • Develop multi-channel sourcing strategies across LinkedIn, job portals, referrals, professional networks, recruitment partners, and other channels.
  • Build and maintain talent communities for current and future hiring needs.
  • Develop strategies to attract passive candidates for specialized roles.
  • Establish strong relationships with external recruitment partners and executive search firms where required.
  • Evaluate sourcing effectiveness and optimize recruitment channels.

Employer Branding & Candidate Experience

  • Develop initiatives to strengthen the organization's employer brand.
  • Partner with internal communications and marketing teams to promote the employee value proposition.
  • Build effective talent engagement campaigns across relevant digital platforms.
  • Ensure a consistent and positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment lifecycle.
  • Develop employee referral and talent advocacy programs.

Recruitment Analytics

  • Establish recruitment dashboards and data-driven reporting frameworks.
  • Track metrics such as time-to-fill, time-to-hire, cost-per-hire, offer acceptance, joining ratio, source effectiveness, and quality of hire.
  • Analyze recruitment trends and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Present talent acquisition insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

Process, Technology & Compliance

  • Drive standardization and continuous improvement of recruitment processes.
  • Optimize ATS and recruitment technology to improve efficiency and candidate experience.
  • Explore AI-enabled sourcing, screening, assessment, and recruitment automation opportunities.
  • Ensure recruitment processes comply with organizational policies and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation, controls, and audit readiness.

Team Development

  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing Talent Acquisition team.
  • Define individual and team goals and performance metrics.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and capability-building initiatives.
  • Develop succession plans for key TA roles.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • MBA/PGDM in Human Resources preferred.
  • 8–12 years of progressive experience in Talent Acquisition / Recruitment.
  • Strong experience managing recruitment teams and large-scale hiring programs.
  • Experience in the BFSI sector, including banking, financial services, insurance, fintech, lending, payments, or related organizations.
  • Proven experience partnering with senior business and HR leadership.
  • Strong understanding of recruitment technology, sourcing strategies, and talent analytics.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
