Tacticial Procurement Specialist, Asia Pacific (12 Months)

This position is to drive operational excellence and strategic sourcing initiatives across our raw materials supply chain. You will own the full procurement lifecycle from purchase requisition through PO execution, supplier management, and logistics coordination while providing analytical support to advance long-term sourcing strategy, cost efficiency, and supply risk mitigation. This role bridges daily tactical operations (SAP management, order modifications, complaint resolution) with strategic initiatives (market analysis, supplier assessments, cost optimization), requiring strong stakeholder collaboration across buying teams, business units, and supplier partners. You will ensure compliance with quality standards, support supplier audits and negotiations, and serve as the operational backbone of our Monthly Tactical and Full FRA Procurement governance meetings.

The Position:

Communication and Data Management:

• Maintain updated information in SAP, including contracts and info records
• Ensure effective communication of necessary information
• Handle and resolve complaints efficiently for all complaint management matters

Purchase Order Management:

• Create and manage purchase orders (PR to PO)
• Perform daily checks and address overdue purchase orders
• Execute modifications on purchase orders, including quantity changes

Logistics and Supplier Interaction:

• Discuss and resolve order-related logistic issues with suppliers
• Support supplier meetings/negotiations with operational input

Process Governance and Empowerment:

• Empowerment for the governance of the entire procurement process
• Manage the approval process for new material development

Operations Management:

• Manage daily operations, providing purchase orders and rolling forecasts
• Handle modification of purchase orders, quantities, etc

Document Handling:

• Take care of and forward documents such as B/L, AWB, etc
• Prepare and forward Customer End Use Declaration

Supplier Relationship Management:

• Maintain supplier selection and purchase requisition in SAP
• Resolve pending issues with suppliers

Quality and Compliance:

• Manage specification issues and secure the supply to Symrise plants
• Start and track AVA (Supplier Audits)

Meeting Coordination:

• Facilitate Monthly Tactical Procurement Alignment (Governance Meeting)
• Take part in Monthly Full FRA Procurement Alignment (Governance Meeting)

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Act as a point of contact between buyers and BUs/sales
• Involve technical experts from divisions or production on delegated spend

In the capacity of Tactical Procurement, your supporting role is crucial in ensuring the efficiency and strategic success of our procurement operations.

Strategic Supplier Management:

• Support with the identification and assessment of suppliers

Sourcing Tactics and Documentation:

• Support sourcing tactics development (e.g., bidding vs classical negotiation)

Critical Supplier Performance Management:

• Escalate critical supplier performance issues
• Support monitoring and management of relationships within the assigned category

Strategic Sourcing and Analysis:

• Support with the identification of key sourcing levers and develop a long-term sourcing strategy on responsible spend

Market and Financial Analysis:

• Support with external market and financial analysis
• Support internal analysis, including baselining and status quo reviews

Cost Efficiency Initiatives and Risk Assessment:

• Provide input for new cost-effective initiatives for delegated spend
• Support risk assessment of the product portfolio, proposing measures to reduce risks for delegated raw materials

The Ideal Candidate:

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
• Min 5-7 years of experience in procurement or operations
• Proven track record in executing procurement tasks, including purchase order management, complaint resolution, and supplier communication
• Familiarity with SAP and other relevant procurement tools
• Background in global and/or regional procurement operations is highly preferred
• Demonstrated experience in managing operational tasks across the procurement process, familarity with regulatory and compliance topics within Procurement
• Does possess analytical thinking skills with good working knowledge on Purchase Order Management & Modifications, detailed-oriented with a focus on maintaining accurate documentation
• Ability to handle logistics and address order related issues with suppliers and having the strategic mindset to contribute to the overall successful execution of procurement tasks & activities.
