- 5–9 years of overall IT experience with at least 5 years focused on Tableau Administration in enterprise environments. - Hands-on experience with installation, configuration, and upgrade of Tableau Server, including multi-node or high-availability setups. - Strong understanding of Tableau security model, including user/group management, permissions, and integration with enterprise identity systems. - Proven ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Tableau Server performance and extract refresh processes. - Experience managing content lifecycle (projects, workbooks, data sources) and implementing governance standards. - Relevant Tableau Admin certification (or equivalent) demonstrating strong platform administration skills.
Tableau Server & Site Administration - Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Tableau Server in multi-environment setups (dev/test/prod). - Manage sites, projects, workbooks, data sources, and user groups with appropriate governance and security controls. - Configure and manage authentication, authorization, and SSO/identity integrations as per organizational policies. Performance, Monitoring & Optimization - Monitor server health, backgrounder processes, extract refreshes, and overall platform performance. - Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and optimize server configurations, schedules, and resource usage. - Implement and maintain logging, monitoring, and alerting to ensure high availability and reliability. Security, Governance & Compliance - Define and enforce governance standards for content organization, permissions, and data access. - Implement row-level security and data security best practices in collaboration with data owners. - Support audit, compliance, and documentation requirements related to the Tableau environment. Deployment, Automation & Docker Usage - Support deployment of Tableau content and configurations across environments using standardized processes. - Where applicable, assist in containerizing related components or tools using Docker to improve portability and consistency. - Collaborate with DevOps/Infra teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines for BI and analytics assets. User Support & Collaboration - Provide L2/L3 support for Tableau-related issues, including access, performance, and configuration problems. - Partner with BI developers and analysts to promote best practices for workbook, dashboard, and data source design. - Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions, create documentation, and help improve user adoption of the platform.
