Job Description
Job Summary
The Systems Engineer – Utility Scale Solar Electrical Design will be responsible for the electrical design, standardization, and technical evaluation of utility-scale solar PV projects for Enerparc India. The role involves developing optimized solar plant designs, supporting technical due diligence, evaluating key electrical components, and coordinating with cross-functional teams during project development and execution.
This role is primarily focused on utility-scale solar engineering. As Enerparc continues expanding into hybrid and energy storage projects, selected candidates will also have the opportunity to be trained and upskilled in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and advanced hybrid plant integration
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Engineering
- Develop and maintain standardized system designs for PV and BESS including SLDs, layouts, and control philosophies.
- Perform technical assessment and component sizing for PV modules, inverters, batteries, and PCS.
- Support system integration studies, including AC/DC coupling configurations, control logics, and operational modes.
- Prepare and review tendering specifications, employer requirements, and design packages for Solar, BESS components and hybrid systems.
- Conduct energy yield assessments (PVsyst), loss analysis, and design optimization to support commercial and pre-bid teams.
- Review and validate electrical studies including load flow, short-circuit, and protection coordination.
- Coordinate with grid interconnection and protection teams for compliance with CEA, IEC, and IEEE standards.
- Vendor Evaluation & Technical Qualification
- Lead technical evaluation and qualification of solar and BESS component vendors.
- Review test reports, certifications (IEC, UL, IS), and field performance data.
- Participate in factory and site inspections (FAT/SAT) and ensure compliance with design and quality requirements.
- Technical Analysis & Support
- Conduct Solar and BESS techno-economic studies, evaluating performance, sizing, and lifetime degradation.
- Review and benchmark OEM proposals for performance, safety, and reliability.
- Support troubleshooting and post-commissioning technical investigations.
- Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with Pre-Bid, D&E, Quality, and Procurement teams for design alignment and cost optimization.
- Continuously update design standards based on new inverter and BESS technologies.
- Provide training and knowledge sharing within the engineering function on hybrid and storage systems.
Requirements
Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: B.E./B.Tech or M.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or Renewable Energy.
- Experience: 5–8 years in utility-scale solar PV electrical design and engineering, preferably in IPP or EPC environments.
- Technical Competencies:
- Strong understanding of utility-scale solar plant design principles.
- Proficient in PVsyst, AutoCAD, PVCase, ETAP, and MS Office.
- Working knowledge of standards: IEC 62933, IEC 62109, IEEE 1547, IS 16221, CEA Grid Code.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Adaptability: Able to manage multiple projects in a dynamic renewable energy environment.
Benefits
What to Expect:
- Work at the forefront of emerging technologies — hybrid solar, energy storage, and hydrogen readiness.
- Opportunity to shape Enerparc's design standardization and technical frameworks.
- Exposure to cross-country collaboration with global Enerparc teams.
- Occasional travel for vendor evaluations, factory inspections, and project reviews.
- Strong professional and technical growth opportunities within a global renewable energy leader.
