SYSTEMS ENGINEER
Education:
Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering.
Experience:
10+ years of automotive enggineering experience.
We are seeking a System Engineer to lead the design, integration, and validation of components for 2-wheelers and combining mechanical precision, electronic control, and embedded software.
The role requires hands-on experience in mechatronic system architecture, requirements engineering, and cross-disciplinary coordination to bring an innovative product from concept to prototype.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define system architecture integrating mechanical, electrical/electronic, and software elements.
- Capture and manage system requirements, interfaces, and performance targets using structured tools (e.g., DOORS)
- Lead concept design and trade-off studies to balance cost, performance, weight, and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with mechanical design, electronics hardware, and embedded software teams for system integration.
- Develop and maintain system-level documentation -block diagrams, DFMEA, interface matrices, and specifications.
- Verify system concepts through simulations, modeling, or prototypes, comparing technical solutions to assess performance.
- Collaborate with global cross-functional teams to drive design discussions and resolve technical challenges.
- Interface with suppliers and testing agencies for prototype parts and homologation support.
- Support prototype build, calibration, and troubleshooting of mechanical-electronic interactions.
- Drive system validation and verification activities through simulation (CAE), bench, and vehicle testing.
- Contribute to project planning, risk assessment, and technical reviews.
Proprietary Required Skills
- Strong understanding of system architecture development, functional decomposition, and systems thinking.
- Should have hands on experience in building vehicles (cycles, bikes, or cars), parts, etc
- Should have participated in actively in build events like BAJA, etc
- Good understanding of AGILE development methodologies, and configuration management tools.
- Excellent communication and technical leadership skills to collaborate across diverse engineering domains.
- Familiarity with sensor technology and design, especially for torque, position, and motor sensors
- Good Knowledge of Vehicle Dynamics
Preferred Skills
- Understanding of electrical architecture, heat transfer fundamentals, and thermal modeling for power systems.
- Previous experience in electro-mechanical systems design for Electric Power Steering (EPS) or Steer-by-Wire systems is a plus.
- Ensure compliance with automotive quality processes (ASPICE, ISO 26262 where applicable).
