Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Network Security & Unified Communications Support Engineer to manage and support Fortinet firewall appliances (FortiGate 400, 200, 100, 60 series) and handle SIP-based communication systems. The role involves troubleshooting, vendor coordination, and ensuring seamless integration of security and UC solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fortinet Firewall Support
- Install, configure, and maintain FortiGate firewalls (400, 200, 100, 60 series).
- Manage security policies, NAT, routing, VPN (IPSec/SSL), and High Availability (HA).
- Perform firmware upgrades, patches, and proactive health checks.
- Monitor firewall performance and ensure compliance with security standards.
- SIP & Unified Communications Support
- Troubleshoot SIP trunk issues, call routing, and VoIP connectivity problems.
- Work with UC platforms (e.g., Cisco, Avaya, Teams, or similar) for integration and issue resolution.
- Analyze SIP signaling logs and resolve interoperability issues.
- Vendor Coordination
- Liaise with Fortinet and UC vendors for escalations, RMA, and advanced troubleshooting.
- Ensure timely resolution of critical incidents through vendor engagement.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed configuration and troubleshooting documentation.
- Prepare regular reports on firewall health, UC performance, and incident resolution.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with Fortinet FortiGate firewalls (400, 200, 100, 60 series).
- Strong understanding of SIP protocol, VoIP systems, and UC platforms.
- Knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and security best practices.
- Familiarity with FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer is a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting and vendor management skills.
- Certifications such as Fortinet NSE 4/5/6 and SIP/VoIP-related certifications are highly desirable.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 35 years of experience in network security and UC support.
