Job Title: Founding Platform / Systems Engineer (Infra + DevOps + Networking)

About the role
You'll be the person who makes the consultant's architecture realreproducible, secure, observable, and production-ready.
What you will own
Infrastructure & Networking
- Build and operate cloud networking: VPC/VNet, subnets, routing, NAT/egress controls, firewall rules/security groups.
- Configure secure access (bastion/VPN), outbound SMTP egress controls, and connectivity requirements.
- Coordinate IP allocation path and basic rDNS/HELO alignment requirements (with guidance from the SMTP consultant).
CI/CD & Config Management
- Implement CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/GitLab/Jenkins) for infrastructure/config changes based on consultant-provided CI/CD + Config Contract.
- Enforce safe changes: approvals, canary strategy, rollback, and auditability.
Linux & Runtime
- Provision and operate Linux hosts and/or container runtime for SMTP stack components.
- Docker-first operations; Kubernetes/ECS/VM-based runtime experience is acceptable.
Security Hygiene
- Implement least-privilege IAM, secrets management (KMS/Vault), key/cert handling patterns, and audit logging.
- Maintain baseline hardening, patching, and secure access controls.
Observability & Operations
- Stand up logs/metrics/alerts basics (CloudWatch/ELK/Prometheus/Grafana/Datadogany one good stack).
- Create on-call routing, runbooks, and incident response habits (postmortems, drills).
What you'll work with
- SMTP Reliability Architect (consultant) for architecture decisions, deliverability controls, and runbooks.
- Triaxa leadership/product for priorities and sign-offs.
- Engineering team as we expand (you'll help set platform foundations and standards).
Requirements (must-have)
- 4+ years in Platform/DevOps/SRE/System Engineering roles
- Strong cloud networking (AWS preferred): VPC, routing, NAT/egress, security groups, DNS basics
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform (preferred) or Pulumi
- CI/CD: GitHub Actions/GitLab/Jenkins (approvals, environments, rollbacks)
- Strong Linux operations: debugging, systemd, networking tools, security basics
- Docker fundamentals (images, networking, volumes, debugging)
- Observability basics (logs/metrics/alerts) and operational discipline (runbooks/on-call)
Nice-to-have
- Kubernetes or ECS experience
- Secrets tooling depth (Vault) and key management patterns
- Email/SMPP/SMTP deliverability awareness (not required)
