Job Description
As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsiblefordesigning,implementing, and maintaining ourcloud andon- premises infrastructure. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our systems are secure, scalable,andreliable.This rolerequiresadeepunderstanding of cloudplatforms,server management,network administration, and automation practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure in AWS and Azure environments.
- Administer and maintain Windows and Linux servers.
- Manage Windows SQL Server databases and ensure their high availability and performance.
- Implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to enhance system efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Ensure robust network security, including firewalls, VPNs, and other security appliances.
- Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement solutions to optimize system performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with development, security, and support teams to ensure seamless integration and operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system, network, and infrastructure issues.
- Maintain documentation for system architecture, processes, and procedures.
Required Skills And Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in managing AWS and Azure cloud infrastructure.
- Strong knowledge of both Windows and Linux server environments.
- Experience with Database applications (Postgres, NySQL, and MS SQL Server administration).
- In-depth knowledge of network administration, including experience with firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, and network security practices.
- Proficient in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or other languages.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent.
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience in disaster recovery planning and implementation.
