Samtel HAL Display Systems Ltd. The Samtel-HAL JV already enjoys the unique distinction of being the first public-private partnership in defence avionics space in India to indigenously design, qualify and serial produce multifunction displays which are currently flying on Su-30 MKI.

About role:

SAMTEL Avionics seeks a Space Systems Engineer with 1-4 years of experience for its new space vertical to support satellite payload design, simulation, and analysis in Satcom applications, focusing on Ka-band, S-band, and X-band transponders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, simulate, and analyse space payloads, including Ka-band, S-band, and X-band transponders, ensuring optimal performance in Satcom missions.
  • Perform link budget calculations, payload systems engineering, and end-to-end system modelling using tools like MATLAB or STK.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on satellite subsystem integration, testing, and risk mitigation throughout the development lifecycle.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electronics, or related field.
  • 1-4 years of hands-on experience in satellite communications, RF systems, or payload engineering.
  • Proficiency in frequency band analysis (Ka, S, X-band), simulation software, and link budget tools.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with transponder design, orbital analysis, and space mission standards like ECSS.
  • Experience with Python, MATLAB, or similar for RF modelling and data analysis.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in agile teams at SAMTEL Avionics space vertical.
