Your Role And Responsibilities
As a Back-End Developer for IBM Z, you will design, develop, unit test, and deliver offerings for IBM Z using agile practices and DevOps tooling. You will work in a collaborative environment to understand requirements, design, code, debug, and test creative solutions to client problems and requirements.
Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include
- Develop High-Quality Solutions: Design, develop, unit test, and deliver offerings for IBM Z, such as z/OS, zTPF, zVM, and zVSE, ensuring world-class quality and resiliency in solutions.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work in a collaborative environment to understand requirements, design, code, debug, and test creative solutions to client problems and requirements.
- Implement Agile Practices: Apply agile practices and DevOps tooling to deliver high-quality solutions efficiently and effectively.
- Program in Multiple Languages: Program in various languages such as HLASM/Assembler, PL/1 or PL/X or Pascal, C/C++ to design and create z/OS applications, work with z/OS subsystems, and mainframe storage solutions.
- Ensure Solution Resiliency: Ensure solutions support strategic imperatives, including artificial intelligence and cloud, and maintain high-quality and resiliency in solutions.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise
5+ years of relevant experience
- Experience with the Software Development life cycle
- Demonstrated execution experience of Systems project development
- Must have Assembler or Pascal or PL/I
- Understanding of how Catalogs work
- Must have Strong analytical and problem solving skills, be able to triage and debug customer reported problems in multithreaded programming environment.
- Good knowledge of z/OS internals, task synchronization, resource serialization, dump analysis using IPCS.
- Good to have knowledge on using the modern development tools such as VSCODE, GitHub, Jenkins pipelines.
- Good communication skills and be able to work effectively in a global team environment.
- Able to guide a team of lesser experienced professionals
