Job Description

A.Product Areas

•Bi-directional chargers, UPS / Inverter systems (1.5–10 kW, 48V Li-Ion), 2W EV chargers

•High power converters (50–200 kVA, 330/660V systems)

•Battery Management Systems (BMS)

•BLE-based devices

B. Roles and Responsibilities

1.Concept & Research

o Identify product opportunities in EV, energy storage, and power electronics

o Evaluate market trends and emerging technologies

o Define product concepts aligned with business goals

2.System Design

o Translate concepts into system-level architectures

o Define Electrical schematics (high-level) and Power topology choice

3.Prototyping & Evaluation

o Develop quick prototypes / proof-of-concepts

o Conduct Bench validation, Functional testing, Performance comparison

o Proactively identifying technical risks and developing mitigation strategies

o Incorporating safety, serviceability, scalability, and manufacturability feedback in design

4.Competitive Benchmarking

o Tear-down analysis of competitor products

o Benchmark Efficiency, Cost, Topologies

5.Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams:

o Embedded HW, SW, Electrical teams, Battery, Vehicle Integration & Mechanical teams

o Manufacturing / sourcing, Support transition from concept → development teams

o External partners - E&E FAEs and Manufacturers

6.Documentation:

o Prepare Concept notes, System requirement specs, Feasibility reports

o Creating and reviewing design verification and validation test plans

C.Knowledge and Technical Skills:

1.Strong fundamentals in:

o Power Electronics, Analog & Digital electronics

o Electronics & Electrical schematics

2.Good understanding of Architecture of:

o SMPS & Converters (DC-DC, AC-DC, DC-AC, bi-directional)

o Inverter / UPS

o Battery systems & charging

o EV systems / chargers / BMS

o High voltage systems (>300V)

3.Hands-on lab skills

o Multimeters, Oscilloscope, Power analyzers, etc.

o Troubleshooting electronic & electrical designs / systems

o Experience in board bring-up and testing

4.Knowledge of communication protocols:

o CAN, UART, SPI, I2C

o BLE / wireless basics

5.Knowledge of electronic product standards and implementation to qualify products for IEC, ISO, AIS, etc.

6.Differentiator Skills

o Strong analytical, reasoning & first-principles thinking & communication skills

o Ability to work in ambiguity, curiosity-driven mindset (explorer vs executor)

o Tech scouting / research orientation

7.Added advantage

o Familiarity with full electronic products life cycle management

o Knowledge of functional safety (FuSa)

o DFMEA, RCA, 8D

o Knowledge of Microcontrollers & understanding of SW programming

o Exposure to simulation tools (MATLAB, LTspice, PLECS)

D. Qualification: B.E / B.Tech/ M. Tech in Electronics (Power Electronics / ECE / EEE / EI)
