System Analyst, AML Workflow (Banking, 1-year renewable contract)

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse, validate, and translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications, ensuring end-to-end traceability of user journeys and workflows.
• Collaborate with business analysts, stakeholders, developers, architects, and vendors to clarify requirements and drive successful project delivery.
• Develop, review, and maintain technical design specifications aligned with architecture standards, development best practices, and security requirements.
• Work with Security Architects to support threat modelling and ensure appropriate security controls are incorporated into solution designs.
• Support system build, SIT, UAT, and deployment activities by resolving functional queries and ensuring solution integrity throughout the SDLC.
• Partner with the Test Manager to review test plans, define functional test scope, and assess defects versus change requests.
• Perform impact assessments, effort estimation, and support scope management for change requests.
• Collaborate with Production Support teams to define and document operational procedures and support processes.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including functional specifications, technical design documents, and data conversion specifications.
• Ensure effective communication and coordination across cross-functional teams to support successful project delivery.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 6-10 years of experience as a System Analyst with strong end-to-end SDLC experience in Agile and/or Waterfall environments.
• Experience delivering projects within the Banking industry, preferably in AML, Compliance, or Financial Crime domains.
• Strong experience in requirements gathering, functional analysis, technical design documentation, and solution specification.
• Good understanding of AML workflows, regulatory requirements, and banking business processes.
• Experience with workflow or business process management platforms, with knowledge of BPMN, UML, or similar process modelling techniques.
• Hands-on SQL skills with experience in data analysis, data mapping, data validation, and querying.
• Good understanding of system integration concepts, including APIs, interfaces, and data flows.
• Experience supporting SIT, UAT, defect triage, deployment, and production implementation activities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with the ability to bridge business and technical teams.
