Omnipresent Robot Tech Pvt. Ltd is a dynamic and innovative SNIoE faculty and staff startup in the field of robots/drones/Space Tech. Our team is driven by a passion for pushing boundaries and creating groundbreaking solutions for real-world challenges. Our recent product was a perception and navigation module for Pragyaan rover for ISRO's Chandrayaan 3 mission. Currently we are working in developing cutting edge products for defence and civilian applications

Position Overview:

The System Administrator & Server Expert will be responsible for building and managing high-availability, compliance-ready IT infrastructure that supports AI research, compute-intensive workloads, and mission-critical internal systems. The role focuses on security, scalability, resilience, and regulatory compliance across servers, networks, and intranet environments.

Core Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage secure on-premise and internal IT infrastructure with high availability and performance.
  • Architect, develop and maintain server environments optimized for AI/ML, GPU computing, and high-performance workloads.
  • Implement and operate cybersecurity controls aligned with ISO 27001, SOC 2, and GDPR requirements.
  • Manage internet and intranet (containerised) hosting environments with strict data privacy, segmentation, and access controls.
  • Plan and scale network architecture to support high bandwidth, low latency, and secure data movement.
  • Continuously monitor, patch, harden, and assess systems to mitigate vulnerabilities and threats.
  • Conduct research to identify and implement new tools, vendors, or technologies to enhance productivity.
  • Evaluate and manage UEM (Unified Endpoint Management) systems to maintain control over company devices.
  • Perform vulnerability checks and threat analysis via threat matrices for all the systems.
  • Enforce restricted physical access to server rooms and critical infrastructure.
  • Configure and manage secure internal communications, including WebSockets, encrypted APIs, and internal routing.
  • Establish and test backup, disaster recovery, and failover strategies for business continuity.
  • Support secure deployment of internal applications, including DNS, firewalls, VPNs, IAM, and logging systems.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation, including architecture diagrams, SOPs, and security controls.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a System Administrator / Server Expert in secure, regulated, or enterprise environments.
  • Strong expertise in Linux server administration, system hardening, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise networking (VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, routing, segmentation).
  • Working knowledge of ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, and secure infrastructure design.
  • Experience with AI/ML infrastructure, GPU servers, or HPC environments preferred.
  • CCNA certification preferred; security/compliance certifications are a plus.
  • Ability to work independently to plan and execute the implementation by working with client, operation team and vendor.
  • Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across different levels of the organization (both internal and external)

Qualifications:

Candidate must have Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science Engineering, Information technology or a related field; Proven professional experience (3-5 years) in Network management and Server Design. Certifications such as CCNA, CISSP, etc.

Technical and Inter-personal skills:

  • Network design, configuration, and security (LAN, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls)
  • Server architecture and management (physical and virtual servers)
  • Securing physical and logical access to critical hardware
  • Hosting and managing applications over secure intranet spaces
  • Cybersecurity frameworks (hardening servers, IDS/IPS, encryption, access control)
  • WebSocket communication setup and secure management
  • AI infrastructure requirements (GPU clusters, data handling, scalable storage)
  • Backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning
  • Experience with private cloud or hybrid network models
  • Knowledge of SSL/TLS, certificates, and secure communications protocols
  • Familiarity with Linux and Windows Server environments
  • Proficiency in setting up and managing databases securely (SQL/NoSQL)
  • CCNA-level networking proficiency (even if not certified)
  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix) and SIEM solutions
