Key Responsibilities
- Installation & Configuration: Set up and configure operating systems (Windows, Linux, Mac), servers, applications, and network hardware (LAN/WAN).
- Maintenance & Monitoring: Perform regular upgrades, updates, security patches, and performance monitoring to prevent downtime.
- Security: Implement security measures, manage firewalls, antivirus, user permissions, and conduct security testing
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues for both systems and end-users.
- User Support: Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and provide technical assistance to employees.
- Backup & Recovery: Plan and execute data backup strategies and disaster recovery measures.
- Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Research: Stay updated on emerging technologies to recommend improvements.
Essential Skills & Qualifications (Typical)
- Proven experience as a System Administrator or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows Server, Linux, macOS).
- Proficiency with networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell, Bash).
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Relevant certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco) are beneficial.
