We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive System Administrator with hands-on implementation experience to manage our critical infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have robust knowledge of hosting web sites on Windows servers, IIS, and various .NET frameworks, with a strong preference for expertise in SQL Server, particularly with clustering. This role requires excellent leadership, decision-making capabilities, and a proven track record in a high-availability environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Management: Oversee and manage high-availability infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability for critical systems.
- Web Hosting Expertise: Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot web hosting environments on Windows Server 2003, IIS 6.0/7.0, and applications built with .NET Frameworks (2.0/3.0/4.0).
- Database Management: Manage and support SQL Server 2005, with a strong preference for experience in database clustering. Candidates with broader database administration skills will be highly valued.
- System Implementation: Lead and execute hands-on system implementations, focusing on new deployments and significant upgrades rather than just support.
- Leadership & Decision Making: Demonstrate strong leadership and decision-making capabilities in managing system operations and resolving complex technical challenges.
- Proactive Problem Solving: Identify and address potential system issues proactively to prevent disruptions and maintain seamless operations.
Required Skills:
- Exposure to high-availability infrastructure.
- Relevant experience in hosting websites on Windows Server 2003, IIS 6.0/7.0, and supporting applications built on .NET Frameworks (2.0/3.0/4.0).
- Preferred experience with SQL Server 2005 with clustering.
- Database administration experience is highly preferred.
- Mandatory hands-on implementation experience; candidates primarily focused on support are not a fit for this profile.
- Good leadership and decision-making capability.
- Experience on AWS (Amazon Web Services) is a significant advantage.
