Systems Administrator

Role & Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain Windows and Linux servers (patching, hardening, performance tuning) to ensure secure, stable operations and SLA compliance.
  • Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and user lifecycle tasks; troubleshoot authentication and access issues.
  • Operate and maintain virtualization platforms (VMware/HyperV), storage systems and backup/DR solutions; perform restores and DR tests.
  • Support on-prem and hybrid network infrastructure (routing, switching, VLANs, firewall rules) and coordinate changes with network teams.
  • Implement monitoring, alerting and incident response (server health, logs, capacity planning) and resolve outages with clear RCA documentation.
  • Automate routine tasks using PowerShell/Bash, maintain runbooks, and collaborate with security and engineering teams on hardening and compliance.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

  • 3+ years hands-on experience as a Systems Administrator or similar role managing Windows & Linux servers, virtualization and backups.
  • Strong Active Directory, Group Policy and Windows Server administration fundamentals; solid troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with VMware or HyperV, backup/DR technologies (Veeam, NetBackup) and basic network administration (TCP/IP, VLANs).

Preferred

  • PowerShell and Bash scripting to automate tasks, plus experience with monitoring tools (Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus) and ITSM platforms (ServiceNow).
  • Familiarity with firewall administration (Fortinet/Palo Alto), storage systems, and basic AWS/Azure hybrid networking concepts.
