Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

System Administration:

  • Install, configure, and maintain servers (Windows/Linux/Unix) and related infrastructure components.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot hardware/software issues, and ensure system availability.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies.
  • Perform backups, disaster recovery, patching, and system upgrades.
  • Maintain documentation related to system configuration, incidents, and changes.
  • Collaborate with network, database, and application teams to support integrated environments.

Release Analysis & Management:

  • Coordinate software release activities across multiple teams including development, QA, operations, and business stakeholders.
  • Review release packages for completeness and adherence to standards.
  • Maintain release calendars, schedules, and version control repositories.
  • Conduct risk analysis and impact assessments related to releases.
  • Participate in deployment planning, execution, and post-release validation.
  • Track release metrics, document issues, and provide status reports.
  • Support automation of build and deployment processes using CI/CD tools.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in system administration and/or release management.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux server environments.
  • Experience with configuration management and deployment tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Jenkins, etc.).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (Git, SVN).
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) administration.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (Shell, Python, PowerShell).
  • Certifications such as ITIL Foundation, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, or Certified Release Train Engineer (SAFe).
  • Prior experience supporting DevOps teams and CI/CD pipelines.
