Job Title: Swimming Coach
Department: Office of Sports Fitness & Swimming Activities (Naveen Jindal Sports Academy)
Position Summary:
The Swimming Coach will be responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering high-quality swimming training programs for students, faculty, members of the Naveen Jindal Sports Academy, and the university's representative swimming team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct daily swimming sessions for all levels (beginner to advanced).
- Design and implement structured training programs focusing on technique, endurance, and performance improvement.
- Supervise and ensure the safety of swimmers at all times.
- Identify and nurture talented swimmers for inter-university, state, and national competitions.
- Maintain detailed records of attendance, training progress, and swimmer performance.
- Coordinate with lifeguards and facility staff to ensure pool hygiene, maintenance, and safety standards.
- Ensure adherence to university and NJSA policies, including safety and discipline guidelines.
- Assist in organizing swimming events, competitions, and training camps.
- Provide regular feedback to the Department Head regarding pool operations, equipment needs, and athlete progress.
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or a related field (preferred).
- Certification in Swimming Coaching from a recognised institution (SAI, NIS, or equivalent).
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant coaching experience at a professional, university, or academy level, including demonstrable experience coaching adult swimmers.
- Knowledge of first aid; CPR certification is preferred.
- Strong communication, organisational, and motivational skills.
Work Schedule:
- As per academy timings, including early morning and late evening sessions.
- Availability required during competitions, events, and training camps as scheduled.
