R&D unit in KTI is responsible for developing digital services at KONE. It's the development engine for our Digital Services such as KONE 24/7 Connected Services, Office Flow and Partnership Ecosystem. Our common goal at KONE is to keep the end users safe and people flow uninterrupted. KONE moves 2 billion people every day and that means our services can really make cities better places to live

Why this role

We are seeking a SW Test Engineer with strong expertise in automation frameworks and elevator domain applications. This role will focus on developing, maintaining, and enhancing automation test cases to ensure the highest quality of software delivery for elevator systems. The successful candidate will have a solid technical background in Robot Framework, Python programming, and CI/CD tools, along with a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems. The role requires a proactive approach, excellent debugging skills and the ability to thrive in a multicultural, international environment.

What will you be doing

  • Create understandable, simple, scalable, and high-quality automation test cases to verify and validate software quality.
  • Responsible for verifying and validating the software quality.
  • Support the development team to release software on time.
  • Implement new techniques and innovative ideas to reduce automated test execution time and improve test quality.
  • Report software defects in an acceptable and timely manner.
  • Prepare simulators for test execution.
  • Keep simulator environment up to date with latest hardware.
  • Maintain 5S & Safety work culture in the laboratory.

Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge in Robot Framework automation test development.
  • Familiarity with Python programming.
  • Experience in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Git.
  • Good understanding of software testing life cycle.
  • Knowledge of Electrical, PCB, Drives, Machines & Safety areas.
  • Ability to identify defects and debug effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in elevator domain or similar applications.
  • Knowledge of automation in diverse application environments.
  • Exposure to Agile development practices.
  • Data analytics, AI & ML expertise is an added advantage.

Are you the one

  • Bachelor's degree in technology or engineering (ECE/E&I/EEE/CSE/IT)
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Test Automation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of an Agile team.
  • Strong Debugging and Analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to procedure and guidelines.
