Job Description

Survey Project Manager

Job ID: 50529

Location: Gurgaon

Department: Survey Consulting

Reporting To: Engagement Manager / Principal

Employment Type: Permanent

Company Profile

Ken Research is a global market intelligence and consulting firm that helps businesses make sharper decisions through research, consulting, surveys, expert-led intelligence, and sector-specific commercial insight. The firm works across strategic problem statements such as market entry, market penetration, customer understanding, business growth, procurement intelligence, and decision support. Its survey consulting practice supports clients through structured primary research programs including employee engagement, customer satisfaction, dealer voice, and customer demand / needs / pain-point studies.

At Ken Research, survey work is not treated as a back-end field exercise alone. It is a consulting-led capability that combines survey design, field execution, data integrity, insight generation, and client advisory to solve business questions with evidence and clarity.

Role Overview

Ken Research is looking for a Survey Project Manager to lead and deliver high-quality survey consulting mandates end-to-end. This role requires strong capability across questionnaire design, sampling logic, field operations, data validation, analysis, project governance, and client delivery.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable managing the full lifecycle of survey-led engagements — from project scoping and methodology development to field execution, quality assurance, insight synthesis, and final presentation. This is a high-ownership role that sits at the intersection of survey consulting, project management, client servicing, and execution excellence.

The person in this role will work closely with internal consulting teams, survey operations teams, analysts, field partners, and clients to ensure every mandate is delivered with strong methodological discipline, operational control, and business relevance.

Key Responsibilities
1) End-to-End Survey Project Management
  • Lead the full lifecycle of survey-based projects, including project scoping, methodology design, field planning, data collection, validation, analysis coordination, and final delivery
  • Translate client objectives into structured survey execution plans with clear milestones, timelines, deliverables, and ownership allocation
  • Design, review, and validate questionnaires, discussion flows, and sampling plans aligned to project objectives
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with strong execution discipline
  • Proactively identify project risks, execution gaps, and timeline dependencies, and drive contingency planning where required

2) Survey Design, Sampling & Methodology
  • Build and validate robust survey methodologies suited to the business objective, respondent type, and target market
  • Define sampling frameworks, quotas, respondent criteria, and field logic for both B2B and B2C studies
  • Ensure research design is practical, accurate, and aligned to the insight needs of the client
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to refine instruments and improve response relevance and data usability

3) Field Operations & Vendor Management
  • Manage field partners, survey vendors, panel partners, and internal execution teams for smooth and timely data collection
  • Track field progress, response rates, completion metrics, dropout patterns, and quota achievement across segments and geographies
  • Ensure adherence to sampling logic, field protocols, respondent quality norms, and ethical standards during execution
  • Drive vendor coordination, partner evaluation, commercial alignment, and performance management to ensure reliable delivery

4) Quality Assurance & Data Integrity
  • Establish strong quality control mechanisms across questionnaire testing, live fieldwork monitoring, validation rules, and back-checking
  • Ensure data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and alignment with client objectives before analysis and reporting
  • Supervise data cleaning, coding, tabulation, and output structuring in coordination with analytics and reporting teams
  • Escalate and resolve quality issues quickly to protect project credibility and delivery timelines

5) Client Management & Delivery
  • Act as the primary day-to-day point of contact for clients across the project lifecycle
  • Communicate project plans, field status, risks, updates, and final outcomes with clarity and ownership
  • Present survey findings in a structured and insight-led manner, supported by quantitative evidence and clear business implications
  • Build strong client relationships through reliability, responsiveness, and quality of delivery
  • Support repeat business and long-term account confidence through strong execution and consultative engagement

6) Team Leadership & Mentorship
  • Lead and guide survey analysts, data executives, coordinators, and execution teams to ensure consistent output quality
  • Conduct regular project reviews and build strong operating discipline across timelines, quality, and stakeholder management
  • Mentor junior team members on methodology, field rigor, survey logic, and delivery standards
  • Encourage a collaborative, accountable, and problem-solving-oriented work environment

7) Process Improvement & Capability Building
  • Improve internal survey frameworks, templates, QA checklists, reporting structures, and execution SOPs
  • Identify automation and platform opportunities across scripting, survey deployment, dashboards, tracking, and reporting
  • Capture learnings from completed mandates and share best practices to improve institutional capability
  • Contribute to making the survey practice more scalable, efficient, and insight-led over time

Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who combines the rigor of a survey consultant, the discipline of a project manager, and the ownership of a client delivery lead. The ideal candidate should be able to manage complexity, coordinate multiple moving parts, and maintain a high bar on data quality and execution integrity.

This role is best suited for professionals who are comfortable working in a fast-paced consulting environment where survey execution must not only be operationally strong, but also analytically credible and commercially relevant.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Marketing, Social Sciences, or a related field
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in survey consulting, primary research, or project management, with exposure to both B2B and B2C surveys
  • Proven experience in questionnaire design, survey execution, field coordination, data validation, and client delivery
  • Strong understanding of sampling logic, response management, survey quality controls, and field governance
  • Experience managing multiple projects across sectors, stakeholders, and timelines simultaneously
  • Strong analytical mindset with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and survey platforms such as Qualtrics, QuestionPro, SurveyMonkey, Decipher, or equivalent tools
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, vendor management, and team leadership skills
  • Experience in multi-country, multi-sector, or high-complexity survey programs will be an advantage

What Success Looks Like in This Role
  • Survey projects are delivered with strong methodological quality, execution discipline, and client confidence
  • Field operations run with clear control over timelines, quotas, vendor performance, and response quality
  • Survey findings are translated into structured, actionable, and business-relevant outputs
  • Clients see Ken Research not only as an execution partner, but as a reliable survey consulting partner
  • Internal teams benefit from stronger process maturity, better templates, and improved delivery systems
