Position: Survey Engineer
Department: Projects / Survey & Engineering
Reporting To: Site Manager / Project Manager
Role Purpose:
The Survey Engineer shall be responsible for conducting topographical surveys, setting out works, preparing survey data, and providing accurate measurements and coordinates for slope stabilization, soil nailing, rock anchoring, gabion structures, and associated civil works.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct topographical, contour, and construction surveys at project sites.
• Perform setting out and alignment of slope stabilization, soil nailing, rock anchoring, and gabion structure works.
• Establish and maintain survey control points, benchmarks, and reference coordinates.
• Operate Total Station, Auto Level, DGPS, GPS, and other survey instruments.
• Prepare survey reports, contour maps, cross-sections, profiles, and as-built drawings.
• Verify project dimensions, levels, and coordinates as per approved drawings.
• Coordinate with site engineers, project managers, and consultants for survey-related activities.
• Monitor excavation, drilling, anchoring, and retaining structure alignment.
• Maintain survey records, field books, and measurement documentation.
• Ensure survey activities comply with project specifications and quality standards.
• Support quantity measurements and project progress monitoring.
Educational Qualification:
• B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering with minimum 3 years of relevant experience,
OR
• Diploma in Civil Engineering with minimum 7 years of relevant experience.
Requirements
• Experience in slope stabilization and hill slope protection projects.
• Experience in:
- Soil Nailing Works
- Rock Anchoring Works
- Gabion Structure Works
- Retaining Structures
- Slope Protection Works
• Experience in topographical surveys, contour mapping, and setting out activities.
• Proficiency in using Total Station, Auto Level, DGPS, GPS, and survey equipment.
• Experience in preparing survey reports and as-built documentation.
Desired Skills:
• Strong knowledge of surveying principles and techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and layouts.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and survey data processing software.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and coordination abilities.
• Ability to work in hilly and challenging terrain conditions.
