A leading opportunity within the Healthcare sector focused on tertiary cancer care and surgical oncology services. The role is embedded in a multidisciplinary cancer treatment environment delivering evidence-based surgical management across solid tumors, integrating perioperative oncology, systemic therapies and survivorship care.
Primary Title: Consultant Surgical Oncologist | Location: India (On-site)
Role & Responsibilities
- Perform and lead complex oncologic resections across head & neck, breast, gastrointestinal, hepatopancreatobiliary and soft-tissue malignancies with adherence to oncologic margins and best-practice protocols.
- Plan and execute minimally invasive and robotic-assisted oncologic procedures where indicated, ensuring patient safety and optimal oncologic outcomes.
- Coordinate and lead multidisciplinary tumor board discussions, integrate input from medical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology and radiology to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Oversee perioperative oncologic care: pre-operative staging, intra-operative decision-making, post-operative management, ERAS protocols and complication management.
- Contribute to departmental quality metrics, morbidity & mortality reviews, surgical audits and adherence to institutional cancer care pathways.
- Mentor and train surgical residents and fellows, participate in clinical research, and contribute to teaching and academic activities to advance institutional expertise.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- MCh in Surgical Oncology or DNB/MD with recognized surgical oncology fellowship
- Proven track record of independent surgical oncology practice in a tertiary cancer centre (consultant-level experience)
- Demonstrated competency in complex oncologic resections and perioperative oncologic management
- Experience with minimally invasive and/or robotic-assisted oncologic procedures
- Certification in advanced life support (e.g., ACLS) and awareness of perioperative critical care for oncology patients
- Strong participation in multidisciplinary tumor boards and familiarity with oncologic staging systems and guidelines
Preferred
- Experience with cytoreductive surgery and HIPEC
- Academic track record: publications, conference presentations or involvement in clinical trials
- Formal training or substantial experience in robotic oncology and advanced minimally invasive techniques
