Job Description

About The Opportunity

A leading healthcare provider in India's surgical oncology space, we deliver precision-driven cancer care through state-of-the-art facilities and multidisciplinary tumor boards. Our surgeons collaborate with radiologists, medical oncologists, and pathologists to design patient-centric treatment pathways—combining advanced surgical techniques with cutting-edge perioperative protocols for superior outcomes across gastrointestinal, breast, thoracic, and head & neck malignancies. Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform complex oncologic resections—including Whipple, total gastrectomy, mastectomy, pneumonectomy, and radical neck dissections—with intraoperative margin assessment and lymph node mapping.
  • Lead multidisciplinary tumor board discussions, presenting surgical options, staging data, and prognostic indicators to align treatment strategies.
  • Manage pre- and post-operative cancer patients, including complications such as anastomotic leaks, wound dehiscence, and chyle fistula, while coordinating adjuvant therapy timelines.
  • Implement enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols to reduce hospital stays, opioid use, and surgical site infections.
  • Conduct intraoperative frozen section analysis and coordinate with pathology for real-time margin determination during tumor en bloc resections.
  • Participate in clinical audits, morbidity & mortality reviews, and contribute to institutional oncology registry data to drive quality improvement.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Must-Have
  • MBBS with MS/DM in General Surgery or Surgical Oncology
  • DNB or MCh in Surgical Oncology (if applicable)
  • Valid NMC Registration
  • Proficiency in open and minimally invasive oncologic procedures (laparoscopic/robotic)
  • Experience with sentinel lymph node biopsy and intraoperative ultrasound
  • Knowledge of TNM staging, AJCC guidelines, and NCCN protocols
  • Ability to interpret PET-CT, MRI, and endoscopic ultrasound for surgical planning
  • Experience in managing post-op complications including fistulas, abscesses, and GI leaks
  • Preferred
  • Experience in sarcoma resections or hepatobiliary oncology
  • Publications or presentations in national/international surgical oncology conferences
  • Training or fellowship in robotic surgery (da Vinci) or hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC)

Benefits & Culture Highlights

  • Access to India's most advanced surgical oncology suites equipped with robotic platforms and intraoperative ICG fluorescence imaging.
  • Collaborative tumor board model with dedicated medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and onco-pathologists.
  • Continuous learning via journal clubs, surgical case reviews, and access to international tele-mentoring programs.
