Role & Responsibilities
- Perform and lead complex GI surgeries including laparoscopic, open and oncologic resections with focus on safe, evidence-based perioperative care.
- Deliver therapeutic endoscopy services (ERCP, EUS, advanced polypectomy/EMR/ESD) and manage endoscopy suites to meet quality and safety standards.
- Assess and manage preoperative optimization, intraoperative decision-making and postoperative critical care for high-acuity GI patients.
- Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams (gastroenterology, medical oncology, radiology, pathology) to plan and deliver personalised treatment pathways.
- Drive clinical governance: maintain outcomes data, participate in morbidity & mortality reviews, and implement ERAS and infection-control protocols.
- Mentor and supervise junior surgeons, trainees and endoscopy staff; contribute to clinical training, audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
- Postgraduate qualification in General Surgery (MS/DNB) with subspecialty training (MCh or fellowship) in Surgical Gastroenterology or equivalent.
- Valid eligibility for medical registration in India and current ACLS certification.
- Demonstrated clinical experience in advanced laparoscopic and interventional endoscopy with strong operative outcomes and multidisciplinary collaboration.
