Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Surgery Coder to join our Omega Healthcare team in India. The ideal candidate will have 1-5 years of experience in medical coding, specifically focusing on surgical procedures. The Surgery Coder will be responsible for reviewing and coding surgical cases accurately to ensure proper reimbursement and compliance with coding regulations.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze medical records and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes for surgical procedures and diagnoses.
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information during the coding process.
- Stay updated on changes in coding regulations and healthcare policies.
- Prepare and submit claims for reimbursement to insurance companies.
Skills and Qualifications
- 1-5 years of experience in medical coding, specifically in surgery coding.
- Certification as a Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in coding procedures and diagnoses.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and insurance representatives.
- Proficiency in using coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
