Role Profile: Manager / Senior Manager Supply Chain Finance

Location: Pune Reports to: CFO

Role Overview

The Supply Chain Commercial Finance role will partner closely with Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams to drive cost efficiency, margin improvement, and working capital optimization. The role will provide financial leadership across end-to-end supply chain operations, ensuring strong cost governance, insightful analysis, and data-driven decision-making to support business growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

Supply Chain Financial Planning & Control

Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for supply chain functions including

manufacturing, logistics, procurement, and warehousing

Monitor and control key cost buckets such as COGS, conversion costs, freight, warehousing, and

overheads

Track and analyze cost drivers including raw materials, yield, waste, capacity utilization, and

productivity

Commercial & Business Partnering

Act as a strategic finance partner to Supply Chain, Operations, and Procurement leadership

Support make-vs-buy decisions, vendor negotiations, and sourcing strategies with robust financial

analysis

Provide financial insights for production planning, network optimization, and inventory strategies

Partner with Commercial and FP&A teams to ensure alignment between demand plans and supply

execution

Cost Optimization & Margin Improvement

Identify and drive cost-saving initiatives, efficiency improvements, and margin enhancement

opportunities

Analyze BOMs, standard costs, and variances; lead corrective action plans with operations teams

Support continuous improvement initiatives such as cost reduction,

process optimization, and lean programs

Inventory & Working Capital Management

Monitor inventory levels, turns, obsolescence, and provisioning

Drive initiatives to optimize working capital across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods

Ensure strong financial controls and governance around inventory valuation and reserves

Performance Reporting & Decision Support

Prepare monthly performance reviews, variance analysis, and management dashboards

Provide clear insights on supply chain KPIs including service levels, cost-to-serve, capacity

utilization, and efficiency metrics

Support capex evaluation, post-investment reviews, and ROI tracking

Governance & Controls

Partner with Accounting to ensure accurate cost accounting, inventory valuation, and month-end

close

Strengthen internal controls, SOPs, and financial discipline across supply chain operations

Support audits and compliance requirements

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Costing, or related field

10+ years of experience in Commercial Finance / Supply Chain Finance / Costing, preferably in

FMCG or manufacturing environments

Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain and cost structures

Hands-on experience with cost accounting, inventory management, and margin analysis

Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)

Preferred

MBA / CA / CMA / CPA

Experience working in large-scale manufacturing or multi-plant operations

Exposure to transformation, cost optimization, or productivity programs

Key Competencies

Strong commercial and operational acumen

Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
