About the Role

Vivekananda Global University (VGU) is seeking a proactive and technically sound Support Engineer – WiFi & Network Support to manage and maintain the campus-wide wireless infrastructure. The role involves ensuring seamless connectivity across academic blocks, hostels, and administrative areas while providing prompt support to students, faculty, and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot campus-wide WiFi networks and access points
  • Provide L1/L2 support for network-related issues (WiFi connectivity, bandwidth, authentication, etc.)
  • Handle user queries and complaints related to internet access and resolve within defined SLAs
  • Configure and manage wireless devices, controllers, and network switches
  • Assist in installation, testing, and commissioning of new WiFi infrastructure
  • Maintain logs, documentation, and reports of network performance and incidents
  • Ensure uptime, security, and optimal performance of network services

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Electronics, or related field
  • 2–3 years of minimum experience in WiFi/network support
  • Good understanding of networking concepts: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, routing, switching
  • Hands-on experience with wireless technologies and access points
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting techniques
  • Basic knowledge of firewalls and network security practices

Preferred Skills (Good to Have)

  • Experience with enterprise WiFi solutions
  • Experience in campus or large-scale network environments
