About the Role
Vivekananda Global University (VGU) is seeking a proactive and technically sound Support Engineer – WiFi & Network Support to manage and maintain the campus-wide wireless infrastructure. The role involves ensuring seamless connectivity across academic blocks, hostels, and administrative areas while providing prompt support to students, faculty, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot campus-wide WiFi networks and access points
- Provide L1/L2 support for network-related issues (WiFi connectivity, bandwidth, authentication, etc.)
- Handle user queries and complaints related to internet access and resolve within defined SLAs
- Configure and manage wireless devices, controllers, and network switches
- Assist in installation, testing, and commissioning of new WiFi infrastructure
- Maintain logs, documentation, and reports of network performance and incidents
- Ensure uptime, security, and optimal performance of network services
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Electronics, or related field
- 2–3 years of minimum experience in WiFi/network support
- Good understanding of networking concepts: TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, routing, switching
- Hands-on experience with wireless technologies and access points
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting techniques
- Basic knowledge of firewalls and network security practices
Preferred Skills (Good to Have)
- Experience with enterprise WiFi solutions
- Experience in campus or large-scale network environments
