Safety & Workplace Management | Objective:Ensure zero harm, safe execution of all electrical activities, and strong adherence to safety systems in HV environments - Ensure 100% compliance with all safety procedures including PTW, LOTO, grounding practices, and switching protocols in 220kV/60MW systems.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and mandatory safety induction for all newly joined contract labour.
- Achieve zero fatality / zero LTI in switchyard and electrical maintenance areas.
- Ensure that all work fronts maintain 5S workplace discipline and safe access/egress.
- Perform safety audits, job safety analyses (JSA) and close all observations within defined time.
- Monitor and enforce usage of proper PPE, especially for HV yard activities in outdoor environments.
|
Daily Work Management | Objective:Maintain stable daily operations ensuring uninterrupted power availability and smooth functioning of CPP3 electrical systems - Ensure 100% availability of critical feeders, relays, switchgear, and auxiliaries that support plant operations.
- Conduct daily inspection rounds of 220kV switchyard, generator auxiliaries, and MV switchgear.
- Ensure timely escalation and resolution of abnormalities such as hot spots, corrosion, oil leakages, SF6 decline, etc.
- Maintain daily logs, shift reports, equipment health records, and defect lists.
- Manage manpower allocation - including overseeing contract labour and ensuring competency of newly inducted workers.
|
Continuous Improvement | Objective:Improve system reliability, reduce failures, and increase operational efficiency through data-driven improvements. - Drive kaizens focused on reducing electrical failures, corrosion issues, and downtime incidents.
- Implement at least 2-3 improvement projects yearly related to reliability, safety, or energy efficiency.
- Continuously improve methods for switchyard inspections, predictive maintenance, and corrosion mitigation.
- Use RCA (Root Cause Analysis) after every breakdown and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
- Contribute to digitalization initiatives (e.g., checklists, SCADA utilization, predictive tools).
|
Asset Care & Equipment Reliability | Objective:Maximize equipment life, improve health index, and ensure reliability of power distribution and generation systems - Maintain maximum possible availability of 220kV switchyard, transformers, 60MW generator, MV switchgear, and protection systems.
- Execute preventive and predictive maintenance as per schedule with 95% adherence.
- Ensure timely testing of relays, CB timing, IR values, oil tests, SF6 pressure checks, etc.
- Implement corrosion-control measures: repainting, replacement of corroded aluminium hardware, and enhanced inspection frequency.
- Maintain spares availability for critical items reduce MTTR (Mean Time to Repair).
- Monitor asset performance through health cards and annual maintenance planning.
|
Assuring Compliance & Guidelines | Objective:Maintain quality of electrical processes, documentation accuracy, and compliance with standards - Ensure all electrical O&M processes meet CEA regulations, IE Rules, OEM guidelines, and internal SOPs.
- Maintain accurate documentation - test reports, relay settings, SLD updates, event logs, failure analyses.
- Achieve zero noncompliance in internal/external audits (Safety, Statutory, Electrical Audit).
- Verify that all work performed by contract labour meets quality standards for HV systems.
|
Customer Centricity | Objective:Provide reliable and timely support to production units and stakeholders - Maintain 99% power reliability for plant operations supported by CPP1&2.
- Respond to breakdown calls promptly and ensure minimum disruption to dependent units.
- Provide timely updates to Production, Utilities, and senior management during abnormal plant conditions or outages.
- Collaborate proactively with other departments to eliminate recurring issues impacting customers (internal).
