Support & Release Engineer

Team: Product Engineering

Reports to: Head of Product Engineering

Location: Ahmedabad and WFO mode

About the Role

We're looking for a 3+ years experienced Microsoft Azure Cloud Support & Release Engineer to help us keep our customer-facing systems stable, our deployments smooth, and our onboarding seamless. You'll work across Java Spring Boot, Tomcat, and React-based applications, not as a full-time developer, but as someone who ensures these systems run reliably in production in Microsoft Azure Cloud.

This role is perfect for someone with a strong support and operations background who is confident supporting Java applications in Microsoft Azure environments. You'll be the bridge between support, engineering, and customers, making sure issues are resolved quickly and releases go out without a hitch.

What You'll Do

Technical Support & Troubleshooting

Act as first-line technical support for our applications. Investigate issues in Java Spring Boot and Tomcat apps, analyze logs, troubleshoot infrastructure, and work with the engineering team on fixes.

Release Management

Own the release pipeline for Java and React applications. Manage deployments in Azure (App Services, VMs, Databases), improve CI/CD automation, and ensure reliable, repeatable releases.

Customer Onboarding

Lead the technical onboarding journey for new clients. Standardize and document processes to make onboarding faster and smoother.

System Stability & Monitoring

Configure and maintain logging, monitoring, and alerting (e.g. Azure Application Insights). Recommend and implement improvements that reduce downtime and manual effort.

Cross-Team Collaboration

Work closely with engineering, product, and customer success to ensure clients have a reliable, well-supported experience from day one.

What You'll Bring

Support-first mindset, motivated by solving problems, keeping systems stable, and helping customers succeed.

Azure expertise, hands-on experience with deployments in Azure App Services, Application Gateways, VMs, Databases, and monitoring tools.

Java application support, comfortable supporting and troubleshooting Java Spring Boot and Tomcat applications, including log analysis, configuration and Integrations.

Ruthless autonomous prioritize, operates autonomously in a chaotic environment and can prioritize their own work based on what is most important to our customers.

CI/CD & automation, experience improving pipelines, scripting (e.g. Bash, PowerShell), and ensuring deployment reliability.

Process improvement drive, a continuous improvement mindset for onboarding, deployments, and support workflows.

Strong communicator, able to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams and explain issues clearly.

Flexibility, comfortable supporting UK-based customers, with occasional flexibility for critical issues.

Bonus Skills

Exposure to AWS (nice to have, but not essential).

Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and DevOps practices.

Awareness of web application security and compliance best practices.
