Position Title: Supply Chain Planner
Function: Supply Chain / Planning
Reporting To: Head Supply Chain Planning
Location: Chennai
Role Purpose
The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for end‑to‑end monthly and day‑wise production planning for all dairy products to ensure optimal capacity utilization, timely product availability, and strong alignment across demand, production, procurement, and logistics. The role drives effective execution of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) while proactively managing constraints, promotions, and new product launches.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Scheduling
- Prepare monthly production plans aligned to demand forecasts and supply priorities.
- Prepare day‑wise MPS from weekly plans considering machine capacity, shifts, labour, and RM/PM availability.
- Adjust production plans based on supply priorities, urgencies, and business needs.
- Align production planning with PROMO plans and New Product Launches (NPDs).
Plan Execution & Monitoring
- Share approved plans with the line manager and cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Track daily Plan vs Actual performance and circulate execution reports.
- Provide timely visibility of deviations and corrective actions.
Material, FG & Logistics Coordination
- Coordinate with Procurement to ensure RM/PM availability and mitigate material risks.
- Confirm Finished Goods availability and coordinate with Logistics for DC / CFA replenishment.
Cross‑Functional Alignment
- Collaborate with Demand Planning, Sales, Production, Procurement, and Logistics for timely production and lifting.
- Align production with promo requirements and new product launches.
Constraint Management & Governance
- Identify and communicate production constraints, shutdowns, delays, or delivery risks.
- Participate in weekly S&OP, production, and sales reviews, including near‑expiry liquidation actions.
Reporting
- Prepare weekly and monthly management reports covering plan adherence, capacity utilization, and service risks.
Key Skills & Competencies
- 5 to10 years in Dairy industry preferably / FMCG / Food industry
- Strong knowledge of dairy/ FMCG operations
- Expertise in production planning, MPS, and capacity planning
- Strong cross‑functional coordination and communication skills
- Analytical capability for performance tracking and decision support
- Proficiency in Excel , SAP and Tableau
