1. Position Overview

We are an electric 3-wheeler (passenger & cargo) vehicle manufacturing company seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to lead and manage our procurement operations. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in automotive/EV components sourcing, vendor development, negotiation, and cost optimization. This role will be responsible for ensuring seamless supply of raw materials, components, and services required for production while maintaining quality and cost efficiencies.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Procurement & Sourcing

  • Manage the end-to-end procurement of components such as chassis parts, body parts, wiring harness, motor, controller, battery, tyres, suspension, sheet metal parts, fabrication items, and other EV components.
  • Source reliable domestic and international suppliers for EV-specific parts.
  • Evaluate and select vendors based on quality, cost, delivery timelines, and technical capability.
  • Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing, bulk purchasing, and supplier negotiations.

B. Vendor Management

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key suppliers.
  • Conduct periodic supplier audits for quality, compliance, and performance improvement.
  • Resolve supply chain issues such as material shortages, delays, rejections, and pricing deviations.

C. Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination

  • Coordinate with production, planning, engineering, and stores teams to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
  • Maintain optimum inventory levels through effective planning and forecasting.
  • Monitor slow-moving, excess, and obsolete inventory and take corrective action.

D. Costing & Negotiation

  • Review and analyze BOM (Bill of Materials) for new models and variants.
  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, contracts, and annual rate agreements.
  • Work closely with finance to ensure budget adherence and timely vendor payments.

E. Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure all purchase activities adhere to internal SOPs and statutory requirements.
  • Prepare and maintain procurement reports, dashboards, and MIS.
  • Ensure documentation for import materials, logistics, freight forwarding, and customs clearance.

3. Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering / Automobile Engineering / Supply Chain Management / related field.
  • 510 years of experience in automotive or EV industry procurement (3-wheeler segment preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of EV components, vendor ecosystem, and automotive supply chain.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to handle high-volume, fast-paced production requirements.
