We are seeking a Supply Chain Engineer to plan, manage and procure materials for our high-resolution Earth Observation payloads. This role focuses on sourcing space-grade materials and COTS components of space optical hardware development including managing supplier qualifications and ensuring compliance with mission-critical quality and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the hardware development and electronics component lifecycles, screening and qualification processes, and will work closely with engineering and operations teams to ensure quality and timely availability of reliable inventory for our payloads.

Roles and Responsibilities

As the Supply Chain Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of space-grade hardware procurement, from raw materials for optical payloads to sophisticated electronic components.

  • Strategic Sourcing: Identify and vet global and domestic vendors capable of providing MIL-spec, ESCC-qualified, and COTS+ components for space missions.
  • End-to-End Procurement: Manage the procurement of long-lead items for optical systems (specialized glass, sensors) and high-reliability electronics (FPGAs, ASICs).
  • Trade Compliance & Logistics: Navigate the complexities of ITAR, EAR, and Indian export-import regulations. Ensure seamless customs clearance for sensitive high-tech equipment. Manage documentation for DGFT-SCOMET, ITAR, REACH and customs requirements
  • Supplier Quality & Audits: Collaborate with the QA/QC team to conduct supplier audits, ensuring vendors adhere to cleanroom standards and space-grade manufacturing protocols.
  • Inventory & Risk Management: Develop risk mitigation strategies for single-source components and manage inventory levels to align with aggressive payload integration timelines.
  • Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations for pricing, lead times, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with global semiconductor and optical system manufacturers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Supply Chain/Industrial Engineering is preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in electronics sourcing/supply chain of EEE parts, preferably in space, aerospace, defense, or high-reliability hardware industries.

Preferred Candidate will have:

  • Supply chain experience in space/defense industry, MIL/ESA/ISRO standards, component heritage, and demonstrated screening/qualification documentation
  • Experience in ERP implementations (ERPNext, Odoo, Zoho, SAP or equivalent), BOM management, long-lead planning.
  • Working knowledge of ITAR, DGFT-SCOMET, and customs documentation for import/export of aerospace-grade hardware.
  • Excellent communication, coordination and documentation skills for cross-functional and supplier-facing interactions.
  • Familiarity with international procurement, INCOTERMS
  • Proven track record in vendor development, procurement, and supplier audits for aerospace or defense-grade components.
  • Strong organizational skill to anticipate, plan, organize and self-monitor workload.

Good to have:

  • Extensive knowledge of space-grade and high-reliability electronic components.
  • Awareness of up-screening protocols for COTS components used in space environments.
  • Knowledge on APQP and PPAP deliverables.
  • Fair idea on PLM/PMS (product design and development - mass production).
  • Experience working in a fast-paced NewSpace startup or a Tier-1 aerospace supplier.
  • 2+ years using MS Office (Excel, Word, Power Point).
  • Able to travel (domestic and international) 5% - 10%
