Supply Chain and Procurement Executive

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

1. Identify and develop relationships with reliable farmers and organic sources/suppliers.

2. Conduct regular visits to farms and other sources/suppliers to verify and authenticate supplies

3. Do regular pesticides residue testing of the produce and work on source traceability

4. Onboard new farmers and sources as per company procurement policy.

5. Plan daily/weekly procurement based on forecasted demand and inventory levels.

6. Monitor supply trends and adjust procurement strategies accordingly.

7. Give quality specifications to farmers and suppliers and make sure procurement is done based on this.

8. Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely transportation of produce.

9. Inspect and verify the quality, freshness, and grade of vegetables during procurement.

10. Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards. Reject substandard or damaged produce.

11. Negotiate terms, prices, and payment conditions with farmers and suppliers.

12. Aim to reduce procurement costs in comparison with the market and without compromising on quality.

13. Coordinate with warehouse and inventory teams to manage stock levels on a day to day basis

14. Avoid overstocking or stockouts by aligning procurement with demand.

15. Maintain records of purchases and deliveries through ERP and bills

16. Address any supply chain disruptions or delays proactively.

Key Skills & Competencies:

• In-depth knowledge of vegetable varieties, sources and market dynamics
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet procurement targets.
• Familiarity with local languages and farmer networks.
• Proficiency in basic MS Excel, inventory, or procurement tools.

Educational Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Supply Chain, Business, or related field (preferred).
• 2+ years of experience in fresh produce procurement or agri-sourcing.
• Experience working with mandis, wholesale markets, or direct farm sourcing is a plus.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Compensation

Salary 35 -45k per month
