Position - Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Development Engineer Job Summary

We are looking for a Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Development Engineer with 3 5 years of relevant experience in supplier quality, strategic sourcing, and supplier development. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience with PPAP and APQP, along with good analytical and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage strategic sourcing activities for mechanical components and suppliers.
• Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and technical capabilities.
• Drive supplier development initiatives to improve supplier performance and ensure consistent quality.
• Coordinate and review APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) activities with suppliers.
• Manage and review PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation and ensure timely submission and approval.
• Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to resolve quality and process-related issues.
• Monitor supplier performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Analyze supplier-related data and identify opportunities for cost, quality, and process improvements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain.
  
  

Required Skills

• Strong experience in Supplier Quality Engineering.
• Hands-on experience in Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Development.
• Good knowledge of APQP and PPAP processes.
• Ability to evaluate supplier capabilities and drive supplier improvement.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of mechanical components and manufacturing processes.
• Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work effectively with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Awareness or practical exposure to AI-based tools/applications is desirable.
  
  

Desired Skills

• Experience in supplier qualification and development.
• Experience in supplier performance improvement and quality monitoring.
• Knowledge of RCA, CAPA, 8D, FMEA, Control Plans, and Process Flow would be an added advantage.
• Experience working with manufacturing or engineering organizations is preferred.
