Job Title : Supplier Quality Engineer
Job Responsibilities:
Facilitates technical capability assessments of potential new suppliers, ensuring they meet the company's quality standards, and contributes to the supplier selection.
Conducts & reviews DFMAT (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly Technique), SAF (Supplier Approval Form), MSA (Measurement System Analysis), PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), Control Plan, SPC (Statistical Process Control), PV&V (Process Validation and Verification), FAI (First Article Inspection), LRA (Logistics Risk Assessment), and SICR (Supplier Initiated Change Request).
Develops, executes, monitors, and controls APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) plans as part of the NPI process to ensure consistent product quality.
Contributes to the content of the Supplier Project Book, documenting detailed quality requirements and expectations for suppliers.
Facilitates collaboration between R&D and suppliers in Design for Excellence (DfX) initiatives to enhance product design quality and innovation.
Focuses that Critical to Quality (CtQ) characteristics are effectively communicated to suppliers and rigorously maintained throughout the production process.
Coordinates Part Submission Warrant plans, deliverables, line releases, and completion, ensuring all parts meet specified quality standards before approval.
Executes supplier improvement and development initiatives on APQP(Advanced Product Quality Planning), providing guidance and resources to enhance supplier processes, ensuring they meet the high standards required for production quality and efficiency.
Assists with the process of making additions, changes, or deletions to the Approved Supplier List, ensuring that only qualified suppliers are retained.
Supports in end to end performance management of suppliers, conducts detailed analysis of defects to determine if they are supplier-caused, and acts as an independent reviewer for Supplier Corrective Action Requests.
Education & Training \u2013
Bachelor\u2019s degree in engineering science, or equivalent experience
Experience & Background
Minimum of 6-7 years of related engineering experience (medical device or regulated industry preferred).
Wide-ranging experience within an engineering function.
Well versed in Quality Engineering and Continuous Improvement techniques.
Direct working relationships with suppliers
Participated in several NPIs from start to finish.
Direct shop-floor production engineering sustaining experience
Preferred Certification:
LEAN Six Sigma or equivalent.

Procurement Supplier Quality Engineer (NPI)\u00A0
Responsible for achieving a state of high quality performance at our Supplier partners through the application and practice of Advanced\u00A0
Product Quality Planning \u2018APQP\u2019 during the industrialization of Philips products/parts within the New Product Introduction \u2018NPI\u2019 process.\u00A0
Procurement Supplier Quality Engineer (Sustaining)\u00A0
Responsible for achieving a state of high quality performance at our Supplier partners and pursuing continuous quality improvement through\u00A0the application of Quality Engineering practices on Philips products/parts/services procured from suppliers throughout the product lifecycle\u00A0including sustaining change management
Producing and completing Supplier Quality Engineering Activities and related documentation under direct supervision.
Assist in Qualification of Parts, identification of supplier processes for CTQ\u2019s, Supplier Process Control plans to ensure product quality by authorizing, supplied parts meets specifications, and the control limits/tolerances for CTQ parameters are met.
Assist in qualifying and sustaining sub-processes of supplier including supplier audit.
Support R&D during product development by providing insights on manufacturability and integration and work as quality gatekeeper for all documentation delivered as part of supplier transfer activity.
Provide Quality oversight of product/process change requests from suppliers, ensuring appropriate regulatory review and adequate validation to support requested changes.\u202F\u00A0
Drive supplier improvement via SQIP (Supplier Quality Improvement Plans)
Lead Supplier Change Notice process with support from Engineering, Quality Engineering / Assurance, Regulatory, ME, R & D, Clinical, etc.
Performing data analysis and reporting for Supplier Quality Performance Monitoring, assisting in the development of Quality processes relating to Supplier Quality Control\u2019s. Conduct supplier audits and supplier qualification.
Experience with CPK, APQP, MSA, FMEA, Process Capability Statistics in relation to Six Sigma, which is essentially process optimization, understands QSIT (Quality System Inspection Technique), serve as a Quality interface to suppliers supporting quality and productivity goals, proactively monitoring, measuring product/process quality, performance trends, and troubleshooting of production/release issues.
Monitor DPPM, FPY, FDR, LAR, SCAR ageing and effectiveness and take appropriate actions to maintain them within acceptable limits.
Supports Design for Excellence (DfX) collaboration between R&D and Suppliers
Critical to Quality characteristics flow down to Suppliers, Supports Quality Engineering capability assessments of potential new suppliers.
Support Supplier improvement and development on APQP.
Supports with Additions/Changes/Deletion to Approved Supplier List, Analysis of defects for determining if supplier caused and then notified. Part Submission Warrant plans, deliverables, line release and completion.
Technical deep dive analysis to troubleshoot issues, carry out full root cause analysis and ensure preventive actions to avert the issues.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience
Bachelor\u2019s degree engineering science, or equivalent experience
Certified in ISO 13485: 2016 and /or 21CFR Part 820
Certified IPC Specialist has thorough knowledge of SMT process, electronic components, and electrical assemblies.
10 years\u2019 experience in establishing and maintaining regulated Supplier Management Systems.
Proven program management skills and must have handled supplier development projects.
Exceptional communication skills.
Experience with delivering tools/methods for establishing QMS Quality Manuals and Intra-company Quality Agreements
