In this role, you will be at the helm of our Quality efforts for the suppliers within India territory, driving Quality excellence, and achieving highest quality deliverables. You'll strive to exceed parts quality expectations and foster satisfaction through a variety of responsibilities:
Supplier Quality Activities
Check Part revision in PO against the actual drawing revision
Calibration of equipments to be verified for having legal validity
Inspect parts against Machining drawings and/or Cast drawings as applicable.
Capture the inspected dimensions in our Dimensional Inspection Reports (DIRs).
Capture the Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing feature control frames in DIRs.
Witness Hydro testing for casings. Pass fail criterion is as per Armstrong procedure E-2906.
Verify E-coating thickness for applicable parts.
Inspect Threads using gauges.
Verify 1:1 template for NCN components.
Verify Material Test Certificates
Witness sample material grade verification using Spectrometer
Green Channel parts will follow the sampling plan as per ISO 2859
Red Channel parts will follow the sampling 3 times of the samples as per ISO 2859.
Exposure to Non-Conformance Note issuance to suppliers, follow up for RCA and CAPA and closure. Measuring effectiveness / Robustness of the CAPA implemented.
Group Company Support
Perform Inspections: Be hands on in performing inspection of parts to the specified drawings and sign off having ensured compliance. Look for the aesthetic appearances as well as Critical dimensions compliances.
Reports Verification: Understand and verify the Material Test reports, Dimensional Inspection reports, Hydro test reports to name a few.
Audits (Process, Product, Quality systems: Conduct audits in keeping with good practices & publish professional reports in
the appropriate system. Identify & communicate best practices/risks Work with supplier & other
stakeholders to close findings & improve supplier processes.
What We're Looking For
To thrive in this role, you should bring:
A Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
At least 3 to 5 years of experience in inspection of castings & machined parts.
Expertise in using measurement equipments.
Software Requirements - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Working knowledge of ERP is preferred.
Knowledge on APQP & PPAP documentation, Drawing reading and GD&T interpretation per ASME Y14.5.
An ability to communicate openly and authentically in all situations.
Seamless travel to suppliers across the region and support them deliver/ensure product quality.
