Your role and responsibilities
You will be working as SQA Specialist and will involve some or all the activities mentioned in the job description. The engineer must travel / visit Suppliers in Bengaluru & suppliers across India, for Problem Solving, technical discussions, trials, Process /Assessment /Channel Partner Audits, Improvement Projects and support wherever necessary. The stay outside could depend on the Criticality of the project. It could be for 2-3 days at initial stages could extend. He will not resist the same.

This role is contributing to the ABB India, Smart Power, as a Supplier Quality Control Specialist for Nelamangala - Bangalore Location.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Promote Supplier Quality awareness and a Zero-Defect mindset, supporting incoming quality control and ensuring reliable inspection and control processes.
Plan, conduct, and follow up on supplier audits/assessments, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, process standardization, and waste elimination initiatives.
Manage supplier performance and qualification, including new supplier assessment with sourcing teams, PPAP approval for new parts, and monthly/quarterly supplier performance evaluations.
Collaborate with commercial, engineering, and manufacturing teams to remove quality and delivery barriers, support special processes, and continuously improve supplier quality systems in line with ABB requirements.
Qualifications for the role:
Extensive knowledge and practical experience with Quality tools such as SPC, MSA, FMEA, PPAP, and CAPA/8D for quality control and problem solving.
Proficiency in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and quality improvement tools, with Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
Good understanding of thermoplastic, thermosetting plastics, die casting, and rubber parts manufacturing processes.
Sound knowledge of assembly processes, manufacturing engineering principles, and special purpose machines (SPMs).
Experience with assembly lines, lean manufacturing concepts, and continuous improvement practices.
Familiarity with SAP systems and ISO 9001:2015 quality management standards.
Proficient behavioral, collaboration, and communication skills, enabling effective work with cross-functional teams and knowledge sharing.
