What You'll Do

This role is based in Bangalore and reports to the Supplier Quality Manager (India), partnering closely with supplier and global stakeholders across Supply Chain, Product Groups, and Manufacturing. You will lead critical projects and continuous improvement (CI) initiatives to achieve machining commodity quality metrics. Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide technical leadership to suppliers to ensure development and high‑volume manufacturing of complex machined components meet quality, delivery, and timeline requirements.
  • Independently lead strategic supplier quality and commodity‑level continuous improvement initiatives, defining methods, standards, and procedures for complex or high‑risk assignments.
  • Drive structured problem‑solving for critical supplier nonconformances (internal and external), ensuring robust root‑cause analysis, corrective actions, and sustainable prevention of recurrence.
  • Challenge and strengthen supplier manufacturing process controls (Process of Record) through mistake‑proofing, automation opportunities, variation reduction, and end‑of‑line inspection improvements.
  • Partner closely with Global Supply Chain, Product Groups, Manufacturing, and Supplier Business Managers to mitigate supply‑chain risks and support business continuity planning and execution

Who We're Looking For

Bachelor's /Master's degree in Mech/prod/automotive/industrial/Aeropsace Engineering.

Work experience of min. 12 years for Bachelor's degree and min. 8 years of experience for master's degree.

  • Deep expertise in Supplier Quality Engineering, manufacturing, and QMS, with proven competency in resolving complex CNC machining issues (turning; 3‑, 4‑, 5‑axis milling) using structured problem‑solving methods (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA, FTA, DOE).
  • Strong ownership and execution discipline, paired with an innovation mindset and the ability to drive data‑driven, scalable supplier quality and development improvements.
  • Extensive experience in supplier qualification, audits, risk assessment, and governance, applying advanced analytics to assess risk, trade‑offs, and long‑term business impact.
  • Independent, high‑quality decision‑maker, demonstrated ability to influence without authority and lead cross‑functional initiatives end‑to‑end.
  • Advanced proficiency in GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and CMM, with hands‑on deployment and sustainment of MSA and SPC at supplier sites.
  • Effective Business communication and presentation skills, capable of translating complex technical issues, risks, and recommendations for suppliers, cross‑functional teams, and senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of metal part fabrication and assembly processes such welding, brazing etc.
  • Proficient in statistical analysis tools (Minitab, JMP).
  • Experience in handling suppliers from remote location.
  • Experience in working with SAP database or Other Database systems.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. On-site Flex you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. Virtual Flex you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
