Role Objective

Provide technical ownership of suppliers by bridging engineering requirements with manufacturing execution ensuring components are manufacturable, qualified, and delivered as per design, quality, and timeline expectations.

About the Role

Act as the technical counterpart to the Supply Chain Program Manager.

Own supplier technical capability evaluation, drawing feasibility, and manufacturing readiness.

Reduce engineering bandwidth spent on supplier follow-ups, clarifications, and build support.

Drive supplier development for precision, RF, thermal, vacuum, and electromechanical subsystems.

Responsibilities

  • Review engineering drawings for supplier manufacturability.
  • Support RFQs with technical clarifications.
  • Evaluate supplier technical capabilities and processes.
  • Drive DFM (Design for Manufacturability) feedback.
  • Interface between design engineers and suppliers.
  • Support prototype builds and first article inspections.
  • Conduct supplier visits, audits, and technical reviews.
  • Resolve quality issues and drive corrective actions.
  • Support PPAP / FAI / qualification documentation.
  • Track technical risks in supplier manufacturing.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in Mechanical / Electrical / Production Engineering.
  • 3+ years in supplier engineering / manufacturing / design.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience with machining, fabrication, or electromechanical assemblies.
  • Exposure to GD&T and tolerance stack-ups.
  • Hands-on supplier interaction experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Semiconductor equipment or precision capital equipment exposure.
  • Supplier audit and qualification experience.
  • Exposure to cleanroom manufacturing standards.
  • Experience supporting NPI builds.
