Position Summary

As a Team Leader, the successful candidate will provide guidance, instruction, direction and leadership to an Operational team working on the front-line of Chemical Compliance customer order management. Key responsibilities include directing the team activities, managing the metrics to support team performance, work instruction preparation, training and supporting teams to achieve the order releases in a timely manner.

This role will oversee the Operational daily activities of releasing orders containing regulated chemicals, across multiple sites, regulations and jurisdictions.

Ideal applicants will combine a track record of team management with a strong understanding of global chemical control frameworks (e.g., REACH, TSCA) and familiarity with biocides, microplastics, and major international conventions. Responsibilities

  • Active management of the Operational team - ensure we have the right resource available at the right time for the right location.
  • Manage team workflows to ensure compliance activities are completed in a timely manner for our stakeholders.
  • Support the team with answering Customer Enquiries efficiently develop a process that manages frequently asked questions to allow time for responding to more bespoke questions.
  • Develop, improve, and maintain training resources and records for the team.
  • Lead and deliver key projects aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Schedule and prioritise accurate and timely annual reporting.
  • Implement and change management control for emerging legislation, regulatory changes and new jurisdictions.
  • Support the development and execution of policies, objectives, and procedures for chemical compliance programs.
  • Monitor and evaluate emerging legislation and participate in associated risk assessment activities.

Required Qualifications

  • BS/MS in Chemistry, Toxicology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Law, or a related field.

Experience

  • At least five years of regulatory experience in product stewardship, regulatory affairs, compliance, chemical consulting, or risk assessment.
  • Proven experience of team management.
  • Proven experience with EU chemical regulations, including EU REACH, drug precursor and explosive precursor regulations, Prior Informed Consent, CLP, and ODS & F-gas regulations.
  • Proficiency with software tools, metric management and implementation of KPI's.
  • Previous engagement in trade associations or sector advocacy groups.
