Job Purpose/ Summary
The NDT Engineer is responsible for planning, performing, and evaluating Non-Destructive Testing activities using Ultrasonic Testing (UT., Radiographic Testing (RT., Magnetic Particle Testing (MT., and Penetrant Testing (PT. to ensure the integrity, safety, and quality of materials, welds, components, and structures without causing damage. The role supports compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements across inspection and quality assurance activities.

Job Description
The NDT Engineer will carry out and supervise non-destructive testing activities on raw materials, fabricated components, welded joints, and in-service equipment. The role involves selection of appropriate NDT techniques, interpretation of inspection results, preparation of inspection reports, and coordination with quality, production, and maintenance teams. The engineer ensures inspections are conducted in accordance with approved procedures, international standards, and safety regulations while contributing to continuous improvement of inspection practices.
Principal Accountabilities
Perform andor supervise UT RT MT and PT inspections in accordance with approved procedures and applicable codes such as ASME ASTM ISO and APIbrEvaluate indications and determine acceptance or rejection based on specification and code requirementsbrInterpret NDT results accurately and identify defects such as cracks lack of fusion porosity inclusions and corrosionbrPrepare and review inspection reports test records and final documentation to ensure accuracy and compliancebrDevelop review and validate NDT procedures techniques and inspection plans according to certification levelbrHandle and verify calibration of NDT equipment and accessories to maintain precision and reliabilitybrEnsure compliance with customer specifications project requirements and statutory regulationsbrSupport audits conducted by clients thirdparty inspection agencies and regulatory bodiesbrMaintain traceability and documentation as per Quality Management System QMS requirementsbrAssist in root cause analysis and corrective actions for nonconformities related to NDT findingsbrEnsure strict adherence to radiation safety rules and safe work practices during RT activitiesbrCoordinate with production welding maintenance and quality teams to plan inspections without impacting operationsbrGuide and mentor junior technicians and trainees during inspection activitiesbrPromote safety housekeeping and best inspection practices at the site or shop floorbrKeep updated with the latest NDT standards techniques and industry best practicesbrRecommend improvements in inspection methods and efficiencybrSupport training and qualification programs for NDT personnel
