About the Role:

The Team: The Risk and Compliance Department at S&P Global identifies, measures, and mitigates key risks while ensuring regulatory compliance. We work with divisional and corporate stakeholders to implement effective strategies and develop policies, provide expert advice, and deliver training to promote ethical conduct and adherence to regulations across the organization.

The Impact: The Risk Intern will have an impact on guiding the organization's strategy by enabling leaders to make risk-informed, data driven decisions. This individual will have visibility within the organization, interact with senior leadership, and work on cross-functional projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in several projects across the Operational Risk, Divisional Risk, Technology Risk, and Corporate Compliance, as needed.
  • Assist in analyzing data to identify trends and insights that can be used in driving business decisions.
  • Support the full cycle risk reporting process from data gathering, cleansing, validation, analysis, and presentation.
  • Identify and resolve complex problems using data, evidence, and subject matter expertise.
  • Help to proactively track and challenge commitments to risk metric areas in Technology, Business Continuity, Cyber Security, Talent & Culture, and Data Quality.
  • Review risk assessment processes for vendors and identify opportunities for improvement, cost savings, and synergies across functions.
  • Work with global partners to manage due diligence requests, prepare risk assessment responses, and create risk artifacts.

What We're Looking For:

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in a quantitative and/or Business field from an accredited college or university
  • Coursework in Risk Management, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business Administration, Mathematics, or other related fields
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work in teams, analytical mindset, attention to details, and excellent communications skills
  • Highly self-motivated, results driven, and intellectually curious
  • Interested in data, technology, analytical, and quantitative type work.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in risk management, financial services, consulting, or analytical field is a plus
