Job Summary

Sumitomo Chemical India Limited (SCIL) is seeking a seasoned and strategic Deputy General Manager to lead its Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QAQC) function. This is a full-time, on-site role in Bhavnagar, responsible for overseeing all QAQC processes and ensuring unwavering compliance with the highest industry standards. As a key member of the leadership team, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing advanced quality management systems and driving a culture of continuous improvement across all operational facets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Strategically lead and oversee the entire QAQC function, ensuring all processes align with organizational goals and global standards.
  • Systems Architecture: Develop, implement, and maintain advanced Quality Management Systems (QMS) and frameworks to ensure superior product quality and operational excellence.
  • Compliance and Audits: Establish and enforce compliance with global regulatory requirements and industry standards. You will also direct and manage all internal and external audits and inspections.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a key leader in cross-functional initiatives, aligning QAQC strategies with production, R&D, and supply chain teams to uphold product quality.
  • Process Improvement: Champion and drive continuous improvement initiatives across all operational teams by leveraging data-driven insights to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Monitor key quality metrics and provide regular, comprehensive reports to senior management, offering strategic recommendations to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. MBA Preferred.
  • Extensive experience in quality management and quality assurance, with a proven track record of leading teams.
  • Deep expertise in quality control processes, standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven audit and inspection expertise, with the ability to manage complex audits and corrective action plans.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities, with a capacity for strategic thinking and independent work.
