Job Opening: Substation Procurement Officer (O2 Grade)

About the Role
We are hiring a Substation Procurement Officer responsible for end-to-end procurement activities for high-voltage GIS/AIS substation projects. The role involves close coordination with engineering, project, and supplier teams to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of critical electrical equipment and materials for large-scale power projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage procurement for awarded GIS/AIS substation projects (220KV / 400KV / 765KV) for major clients such as IOCL, NTPC, and BSPTCL
- Develop and maintain detailed procurement plans aligned with project schedules
- Float RFQs, evaluate techno-commercial offers, and prepare comparative statements
- Conduct negotiations with suppliers to ensure best cost and technical compliance
- Create CPDCs and Purchase Orders in SAP (MM Module) as per SOPs
- Follow up with vendors for timely manufacturing and dispatch of materials
- Coordinate with engineering teams for approval of supplier documents including GTP, QAP, TTR
- Issue Manufacturing Clearance (MFC) to suppliers post approval
- Support bidding and tendering activities by sourcing competitive vendor offers
- Ensure smooth coordination across multiple ongoing projects
Requirements
- B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical Engineering (Mandatory)
- 3–5 years of experience in power sector procurement, preferably in substation/EPC projects
- Hands-on experience with 220KV / 400KV / 765KV substation equipment procurement
- Strong proficiency in SAP (MM Module)
- Knowledge of electrical equipment specifications for HV/EHV substations
- Experience in vendor negotiations and commercial evaluation
- Familiarity with GTP, QAP, TTR, MFC documentation processes
- Strong communication, coordination, and multitasking skills
